I’ve been trying to contact someone for a year and a half now to verify my diamond report. The ring I received from my ex in-laws had a report from them from 1999, so it didn’t have the same report # system as the current ones, and Gemological was spelled differently. I sent them three emails following up about it, even asking if I needed to contact someone else about it.
The only reply back I ever received was Scott Friedman asking for the report number after the first email, and then they never responded again. Thankfully, I was able to get it appraised elsewhere and was able to sell it, but it made it a little more difficult. Would have been nice if anybody had responded to me.

Disappointed, they send my package back without insurance despite I told them to. My pearls got stolen at USPS logically, since they stamped the box 20 times saying “Appraisal”, “”Appraisal”, no reimbursement from them, not even the price of a service made in vane. I run a business and this is no how you do it.

We had the honor of working with the Gemological Institute of America, and the end result was a stunning installation of Skyfold Classic 60 in their high-tech conference rooms; creating an easy room divider when needed! The space now has access to abundant natural light and city views. Very professional place that gives me the confidence to leave my diamond to get an updated report. The security is very good that you have to call in advance to add your name on list with security before you can enter building. When I get there I have to fill out an application, get verified, then wait for them to call me into the individual booth to turn in my diamond. It was quick, simple, and easy. I highly recommend to anyone who brought a diamond and wants reassurance or an update on their diamond. It is very inexpensive to get the most accurate specs about your diamond.

I ordered a GIA chart from them displaying the various types of inclusions found in rubies. I paid for a brand new chart. Took some time to arrive, but the worst part is that the chart I got is obviously USED! Not new! It has fingernail gouges ALL over it! Apparently from it being rolled up, unrolled, and rolled up again, and again, and again numerous times!! This multiple fingernail gouge damage to the chart makes it more difficult to see the details of the inclusions one is trying to learn more about. The chart is even (thinly) laminated, but that didn't keep it from being badly marred by fingernails from careless people handling it many, many times before selling it to me!
I'd been planning to send my antique 11ct Kashmir sapphire to GIA, but after reading a recent review regarding another Kashmir sapphire, I absolutely will NOT be doing so!

The absolute worst gemology lab in the world to get colored stones looked at for origin or correct color grade. They are unprofessional cannot give origin as they state on their site but will still try to pressure you to pay for a service they fail to fulfill. Save yourself headache , shipping fees and time and send your gemstones to AGL.
I sent in a 6 carat Blue Sapphire that had an Origin report from IGI . I requested an origin report . GIA received the stone via FedEx on the morning of Feb 2 2024 Alexandra Tituana confirmed on February 8 that their lab will have another look at the stone because they didn’t have the knowledge to give an origin for my Kashmir Sapphire . Alexandra Tituana stated it would take a couple more days . Which I didn’t hear back from them until the 15th to tell me that they were still dumbfounded about my Kashmir sapphires origin which mind you had an accompanied IGI origin report for Kashmir. Yet they still wanted to charge me for a 72 hour rush fee and an extra $35 fee for something I’ve never seen on any of these other receipts in front of me and charged me over double for overnight shipping according to these other single stone returns costed $87 yet they tried to charge me $506.25 to my card when I didn’t give them permission and I certainly “DID NOT” receive the service I requested . They sent the stone to Carlsbad California without my permission from New York without my knowledge and that’s where these extra fees are coming from and today Feb 21 2024 I received a sapphire back with an identification report that I told them over and over I specifically wanted an origin report which they couldn’t provide because of their lack of gemological expertise with identification and origin for Kashmir Sapphires and then to top it off they steal my IGI origin report and didn’t send it back to me so who knows if this sapphire is even the one I sent. They are rude , unknowledgeable , unprofessional and I’m pissed off !!! I want my IGI report and I want my Kashmir Sapphire back . I will be sending this stone off to GRS and if it doesn’t come back as Kashmir Origin as my IGI report stated I will see you in court with a $900,000 lawsuit for replacement of my Kashmir Sapphire you stole and for punitive damages

I went to the GIA offices in NYC to get my engagement ring diamond certificate. The first time, a lady told me to bring the code # that is in the diamond because it will be less expensive that way, otherwise, the diamond will need to be removed from the ring and I will be charged for the entire process of the diamond evaluation...etc. I came back the next day, with the code#, just to be told that I still need to remove the diamond and that I will be charged full price. Either the first person that helped me during my first visit lied to me, or the lady that helped the second time was attempting to charge me full price. I still haven't gotten my certificate and I don't think it's fair that I have to pay full price after providing them with the diamond code that they can clearly see in the diamond (without removing it from the ring).

This place is a very difficult place to deal with . Daniel is the worse customer service agent I have ever dealt with. Very unprofessional and extremely rude! Because he didn't like me he decided to charge me $350 for a " rush charge" when the lab took over two weeks to get my results. The initial charge for my lab was $60 and he added a $350 rush charge to my bill! Be careful with dealing with this organization.
