I came today to donate blood, but it was terrible, the receptionist was not very friendly and cheerful.
and they were so horrible that they refused me to donate blood because I didn't know English.
I am Vietnamese, in Vietnam I donate blood once every 3 months. When I come to America, I also hope that I will continue to donate blood, to contribute my small part to help when someone needs it.
They don't seem to need blood donors, I can use Google translate to answer the test questions or look up some words I don't know in the dictionary, they also disagree, and I ask my friend to translate them also agree.
What a horrible place.

I have donated several *gallons* of blood in my life - this is the the first donation center I have ever been to that treats the donors with contempt. Four staff members standing around laughing for over 30 minutes, with multiple people waiting to donate. Everything staff was doing was obviously being done as slowly as possible, wrapping up the blood bag after donation took 5 minutes - a process that usually takes 15 seconds.
Every question someone who walked in asked took the entire group of staff to talk about and decide on an answer, bringing the glacially slow process to a complete halt.
None of the problems I saw were due to not enough staff, they were due to incompetent and lazy staff who clearly didn't care about doing their jobs at all.
Vitalant isn't a bad place at other locations, but this one is absurd.

I have been trying to get therapeutic phlebotomy done for two weeks. Took a week to get someone one the phone for instructions. Turned order from doctor in a week ago, and still haven’t received a call. Was thinking it was just the Midland office that’s messed up but they schedule from somewhere else. Evidently it’s the whole company that can’t seem to get things done. This is the only option in West Texas. Guess I’ll have to schedule something in Houston to get my medical needs met. Also their hours on google does not reflect the hours they have posted on their door.

Lazy staff is an understatement! They act like their appalled you would dare inconvenience them by donating blood. They randomly post a sign that says no walk-ins. Even after calling to confirm they will take walk-ins.

Go elsewhere. I went in on Valentine's Day, delaying my date to donate blood. I asked about the promotion to the local staff, “well we have no idea, we don’t know anything about it.” Then I called several months later asking my about my gift cards. “Oh you aren’t on our program, you have to be entered to receive tshirts or gift cards for promotions.” Really? This isn’t my first blood donation with these guys. Just admit it, your company lies.

Horrible horrible horrible this was my very first time donating to this organization and I will never do it again which is very sad because I was looking forward to possibly donating again. Unfortunately today I was scheduled to donate blood at the Midland Rockhounds stadium only to be turned away and be told I did not have an appointment and they had no one else on their list however I had spoken to someone from this company and was told yes I had an appointment when I arrived a lady came out of the blood mobile and told me there was no one else on their list and they were leaving mind you this blood drive does not end till 6:30 and my appointment was at 6:00

Terrible place. My dad tried to donate blood 4 times and they never had a Spanish interpreter and would not let family interpret and turned him away.

Rude and 10 people working only the receptionist and her bf sitting in the lobby. Cant give blood away for free on this town. Taking my blood to e.r. to be thrown away. Sad story. Do better west tx.
After arriving at E.R. and discovering they wouldnt assist me either. The E.R. called Vitalant and managed to get me an emergency blood draw. I hate that I had to go around the process when I clearly stated I needed help. After returning to Vitalant the process and people other than receptionist were fantastic. She kept cutting me looks as if I got her in trouble or something. My thoughts are do whats right irregardless of policy. I needed help and they failed me the first time. Thanks for eventually taking my blood id give a 5 star after getting past the check in.
