I am going to address one specific thing: Win/loss statements. I won a small progressive jackpot at another casino, so needed to prove that I had lost elsewhere to offset the tax consequences. I called Graton to find out when the win/loss statements would be available. To my shock, I was told that I had to COME IN PERSON just to REQUEST it! I couldn't even pick it up at the time! I would think this would be illegal. I can print it out from other casinos and send a written request to one other, so it is not a Federal law. Why should I have to drive for an hour and a half just to REQUEST my information!! To me, this is nothing more than an attempt to get you in to the casino to spend more money. Is this allowed because it is an Indian casino? I would really love to know because, quite frankly, this sounds very close to extortion to me. Definition: Illegal use of one's official position or powers to obtain property, funds, or patronage. I would love to hear the casino's version. When I asked the woman who gave me the info, she said that it was "policy" As it happens, I will be up that way at the end of January, so will be able to comply, however, I will not spend one more penny in that place. Should someone come up with an acceptable answer, I would be more than happy to apologize and remove this post.
