This place is awesome. I use the CNC shopbot router, laser cutter, 3D printers, woodshop, electronics zone, jewelry area for finer more detailed work.... One thing that's awesome about this place is there's so many knowledgeable helpful friendly people with lots of skills in different areas, so you can almost always find help or learn something new. I have been a member here since 2019, except for when I paused my membership for a couple years when I didn't have time to come in, and it was super easy to pause and resume the membership. The staff and volunteers who keep it running are upbeat and good communicators and keep the vibes high, as well as the cleanliness and organization. Highly recommend to anybody looking for access to more space, tools, or knowledge. It's easy to cancel so come try it out for a month or two, you will be glad you did.

Idea Fab Labs (Santa Cruz) is, in my book, the best all around makerโ€™s space in the Bay Area. I choose to commute here from Oakland not only because of the high caliber equipment and flexible availability, but also because of the spacious and energetic creative atmosphere, welcoming staff and member community, and top-notch events and parties.
At Fab Lab, everyone is interested in what youโ€™re working on, and willing to lend a helping hand. Jordan and crew are always on it with repairs, jiving and brainstorming, and project troubleshooting.
Maintaining my membership here is incredibly fulfilling, and I love feeling like I have a place to work on fabrication projects where I feel valued, respected, welcomed and loved!

Idea Fab Labs is SUCH a great place, and a gem in Santa Cruz County and the South Bay. The staff, the community, the tools, the vibe. It's genuinely the best place to be if you want to turn an idea into a reality, grow a project into something more, and collaborate with tons of incredibly talented and supportive people. I would give IFL 6 stars if I could.

My experience with Fab Labs has been nothing less than extraordinary! So many great artists using this space and helping each other grow. The space is super clean and well organized compared to other makers spaces I've attended and the management team is always super helpful!

Idea Fab Labs & Jordan are amazing! I purchased an Augmented Reality Sandbox for our children's museum and, when it needed service, they jumped right in. Stood behind their work, and went above and beyond. Great team. Great product.

I've been to a lot of maker spaces in my past and this one has always been my ultimate favorite. Everyone is chill, laid-back and super helpful and will drop their own projects on a dime sometimes to help you with yours. If you hang around long enough, these people will become very good friends and wonderful community! Tip of the iceberg if you know any of them! We love you guys!

The woodworking class was a concentrated, hands-on introduction to using the power tools and wood shop safety. We got to actually work on a short intro project that used each of the major tools .
