A Nightmare Experience – Fanatec’s Decline Under Corsair?

I’ve spent years dreaming of owning a Fanatec sim rig, believing in the prestige and quality of the brand. When I finally took the plunge for my birthday, I expected a premium experience—what I received instead has been nothing short of a disaster.

From the moment I unboxed my setup, the issues started piling up. My seat was missing three screws and wasn’t even compatible with the cockpit I selected. The steering wheel arrived with no base attachment, rendering it unusable. The quick release system? Also missing screws. Instead of precision engineering, I got an expensive pile of incomplete hardware.

Reaching out to customer service only made things worse. Their response? Ship it back—at my expense—and take the refund. No effort to resolve the issue, no accountability, just a ā€œtake it or leave itā€ attitude. For a company that built its reputation on high-end sim racing gear, this level of service is unacceptable.

More Hassle Than It’s Worth,

It’s been over a week, and my sim rig remains a glorified paperweight. Out of sheer desperation, I’ve resorted to repurposing screws from the pedal mount just to assemble the chair. I’ve also had to purchase multiple sets of hex cap screws to find a solution for the steering wheel, but it seems Fanatec may even use proprietary hardware—adding another layer of frustration to an already infuriating process.

A Warning for Corsair’s Future?

Fanatec’s legacy has already been tainted by poor customer service, and under Corsair’s ownership, things don’t seem to be improving. If this is the direction the brand is heading, sim racers need to think twice before investing their money here.

A word of advice: Do not buy this for a special occasion. Expect delays, missing parts, and little to no support when things go wrong.

If any other sim racing companies are reading this—please take note. The community deserves better. Show us how it should be done.

Would give 0 stars if I could if you dont believe what you see here check the better business bureau reviews. No call center or direct customer relations everything is through a email chain. So do yourselves a favor and only order through amazon for their products if you cant make do with something else their customer service is too much a nightmare to purchase direct from them. im dealing with a issue myself atm where they sent me a poorly packed package that i received damaged and with one cheaply made air pack leaving tons of room for my expensive parts to flop around note the punctures in one of the pics it flopped around so bad from lack of packing protection that it got punctured from another box .i sent it back and now they are saying they can only do a refund and i would have to wait for the refund which can take 7 days just to hit my card and then reorder and hope they dont send me damaged goods again šŸ˜‘ dont think ill be using this company anymore for my next build in the future. absolutely horrendous experience.

Disappointed in Corsair product and service
I wanted to share my experience of Corsair Rma and also product quality and icue software unfortunately I am very disappointed of the quality of Corsair they are no longer reliable and customer understanding I did some research on others they get pore experience as well one of my friends will switch to a different company because of Icue software. This point in time I will go with a different brand downline for quality and reliable service Noctua is top of the range and I will stay away with Corsair in the future if I can

Software (ICUE) is a total desaster...
Every week i need to reinstall it, because it's not functional anymore. Repair, doesnt work, deinstallation not possible on the normal way. you have to use 3rd party programms to get it out of your System for a clean reinstallation...
And now, even with 3rd party programms i cant even get it out of my windows programm list, even the registry and %appdata% order are deleted. so also no reinstallation. well done.
So, Corsair will be the 2nd company i am banning from my pc, after the first was logitech for their bad customer support on my behaviour.
the list gets shorter, sadly. i love the corsair parts for their quality, but the software is a no go since more than 2 years.
where is the f... bugfix?! it's not only me btw. look it up.

I placed an order through their website, taking advantage of a sales promotion offering 50% off. I paid the high shipping fees associated with the order. Everything seemed satisfactory until I received an email notifying me that my order had been canceled without any prior communication regarding the reasons or an opportunity to address any potential issues. Upon inquiring about the cancellation, I was provided with an unsatisfactory explanation, claiming that both my shipping and billing addresses needed to be located in the United States, which they were. They further asserted that my shipping address was not acceptable because it was a freight forwarder, despite the fact that I have successfully shipped thousands of items to that same address from retailers with stringent U.S. shipping regulations without any problems (and, notably, it is not a freight forwarder). I conveyed my frustration, particularly as the purchase was intended as a birthday gift, expected to arrive on the recipient's special day. Their response was to instruct me to reorder through their U.S. website, essentially asking me to repeat the same process, but the promotional price was no longer available, and they refused to honor the original discount. It appears they canceled my order to avoid selling the product at the promotional price, fabricating excuses to shift the blame onto me. I have confronted them about this issue, yet they continue to disregard my concerns and attribute the problem to my address. This situation is utterly unacceptable—extremely disrespectful, manipulative, and deceptive. I strongly advise against purchasing from Corsair. If they make direct transactions this challenging, one can only speculate about their accountability regarding the quality of their products (refer to other reviews to understand how poorly they treat customers who receive their items).

By far the worst company to buy from. I purchased a new PC from them, and it broke. Since it was under warranty, I sent it back for repairs. They received my PC but didn’t repair it—instead, they sent me a broken, refurbished PC that wasn’t mine. According to them, they don’t actually repair PCs but rather send out used ones that don’t go through a proper QA process. Now, they refuse to refund me the full amount for my PC.

ABSOLUTELY A GARBAGE COMPANY!

This company has literally the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced from a large business. No way to communicate with them by phone, no way to communicate with them by live chat. You try to email them and you don’t get a response for days. You can’t cancel an order, And when you finally receive it (which for me was almost a month later) they won’t cover the cost to have it returned, which can be almost $200. I will never do business with this place again, and I will never buy any of their products.

Totally amazing place to work and the products are evolving so quickly to change the game with people's online lives whether it be gaming or hybrid working. I have never had any major problems with any of their products although maybe the software could be a bit more intuitive, but I think this is because of the rapid development. This company works too. Very nice building to work from as well
